Donut Clicker starts with one simple action: click the giant donut to make more donuts. From there, the goal shifts from manual clicking to building an automated production system. Buy buildings, improve them with upgrades, and raise your donuts per second (CpS) until your bakery becomes a huge donut empire.
How Donut Clicker Works
At the beginning, clicking is your main way to produce donuts. Early purchases can make that process easier, with the Cursor providing automated clicks and the Grandma adding 1 CpS without upgrades. As you earn more, buildings become the main source of production.
Each building automatically generates donuts, but every purchase makes that building more expensive. Higher-tier options such as farms, mines, factories, banks, and temples cost more while offering much stronger production. Upgrades can further amplify the effects of your buildings, so deciding where to spend your donuts becomes an important part of progression.

Achievements, Boosts and Ascension
Production is not the only way to progress. Unlocking achievements earns milk, which can combine with Kitten upgrades for a major donut boost. This gives achievements a useful role beyond simply marking milestones.
For long-term progression, Ascension resets your progress while keeping your achievements. In return, it provides prestige and a stronger multiplier for future attempts. This creates an ongoing cycle of building production, reaching new milestones, and starting another run with an advantage.
