Snake Walls Mode

Snake Walls Mode keeps the familiar snake game gameplay but gradually turns the board into a maze. Every other apple you eat places a permanent brick on the board, so surviving becomes a matter of collecting apples while planning around an increasingly crowded play area.

How Snake Walls Mode Works

Eat an apple to grow your snake by one segment and score a point. After the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and every other apple, a new brick appears. Bricks never disappear and are solid obstacles, so hitting one ends the round just like hitting the edge of the board or your body.

The brick placement has some restrictions that keep the board playable. A new brick never appears directly in the lane ahead of your head or immediately beside it, and it does not seal off a corner. Even so, the available space gradually becomes tighter as more apples are collected.

Controls

Press Play or an arrow key to start and use the arrow keys to steer. On a phone or tablet, swipe to control the snake. The gear button opens settings where you can change available gameplay options.

Tips for Playing

Watch the board after every apple because a new brick can divide an open route. Try to keep a wide area available for turning instead of staying close to clusters of bricks. Furthermore, avoid trapping your tail between your body and an obstacle.

You can adjust the experience with different apple counts, normal, fast, or slow speed, and small, medium, or large boards. Your best score is saved separately for each combination of mode, apples, speed, and board size in your browser.
