What Is Snake and Ladders?

Snake and Ladders is a 2-player puzzle game based on the classic board game. Each turn revolves around a dice roll and the position of your piece on the numbered board. Ladders can move you forward, while snakes can send you back, so your progress can change quickly.

The goal is straightforward: be the first player to reach square 100. There is no separate scoring system to manage; reaching the final square determines the winner.

How to Play

Click or tap the dice to roll and move your piece according to the result. Landing on a ladder lets you climb forward, helping you cover more of the board. A snake has the opposite effect, sliding your piece backward and changing your position in the race.

Rolling a 6 gives you an extra turn, creating another opportunity to advance. Since each move depends on the dice, even a player who is behind can get another chance to close the gap.

Race to Square 100

The entire board leads toward square 100, making every dice roll part of the race. Watch for ladders that can push your piece ahead and be prepared for snakes that undo some of your progress. The combination of these board elements and the extra-turn rule keeps the outcome changing from turn to turn.
