Snake Poison Mode introduces lethal avoidance hazards to classic snake movement. Eating regular fruit causes hazardous poison apples to spawn on the board, requiring careful path planning to avoid deadly collisions while growing your snake.
Poison Apple Mechanics
Unlike standard apples that bounce, poison apples are distinctively purple, feature a white skull icon, and pulse slowly. One poison apple is present from the start, and each good apple you consume spawns an additional poison apple on the arena grid.
Touching a poison apple instantly ends the round, just like running into the board border or your tail. However, new poison apples are programmed never to spawn directly adjacent to or in the immediate lane ahead of your snake's head.
Furthermore, poison apples do not stack endlessly. The game caps total active poison apples between 2 (on small boards) and 10 (on large boards). Once this cap is reached, collecting further apples adds no more poison hazards to the board.
