Snake Portal Mode adds a teleporting twist to classic Snake. Apples appear in matching pairs, and eating one sends your snake through its partner on the other side of the board. You need to think beyond the apple in front of you and check where the portal will put you next.
Portal Teleportation Mechanics
Each pair contains the same fruit and has the same colored ring. When you eat one, your head emerges from the matching apple while continuing in the same direction. The eaten pair then disappears, and a new pair appears somewhere else.
The snake's body follows through the portal too, so part of your snake can temporarily be on each side of the board. The usual crashes still apply: hitting the edge or your own body ends the round.

Plan Your Portal Exit
Before entering a portal, check its partner and the space beyond it. Since you keep the same direction after teleporting, entering while moving right means you will also leave moving right.
Portals can also act as shortcuts across the board. A distant pair can move you away from a crowded area, but your trailing body still matters after you emerge.
You can play with 1, 3, or 5 portal pairs, or up to 8 with lots of apples. Speed, board size, snake color, and board theme can also be adjusted.
