Backrooms: Monster Merge is an idle-merge puzzle game set inside the eerie world of the Backrooms. Buy creatures, combine identical monsters, earn coins, and send your strongest entities into battles. The main challenge is to collect all 60 unique Backrooms monsters while progressing through increasingly dangerous levels and environments.
Core Gameplay Loop: Buy, Merge, & Tap
The gameplay starts with a simple board. Buy low-level monsters and place them on empty spaces. When two identical creatures are available, use the drag-and-drop merge mechanic to combine them and unlock a stronger entity. You can also tap your monsters to generate coins, giving you the resources needed to purchase more creatures and continue the merge cycle.

Coin Generation & Speed Boosts
Coins are essential for keeping your collection growing. Tapping monsters gives you an active way to generate coins, while the game also provides passive earnings as you progress. Watch the energy bar at the top of the screen and work toward filling it. Once activated, its speed multipliers can boost your earnings and help you progress through merges more quickly.
Squad Building & Level Progression
Your strongest monsters can become part of your battle squad. Select powerful entities from your collection and send them into level battles as you move deeper into the Backrooms. Progression also introduces a new location every two levels, keeping the environment fresh while giving you another reason to continue merging.
Monster Discovery & Collection
Collecting monsters is one of the biggest goals in Backrooms: Monster Merge. Look out for iconic entities such as Smiler, Pirate Clark, and Many-Arms as you unlock increasingly powerful forms. Keep merging to work toward the ultimate tier and complete the collection of all 60 unique entities.
