This classic word puzzle game challenges you to connect adjacent letter tiles to form words, earn points, and keep the library from going up in flames.

Classic Mode

This mode provides a relaxed, untimed experience. Players can take their time to search for high-scoring words, making it ideal for casual play and vocabulary practice.

Action Mode

Action Mode introduces a time limit and increases the frequency of burning tiles. This mode raises the pressure significantly and rewards quick thinking and fast word recognition, appealing to players who enjoy a more intense challenge.

Core Gameplay

Bookworm revolves around connecting adjacent letter tiles to form valid words. Letters can be linked horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, allowing for flexible word creation.

Longer words are especially important. Not only do they earn higher scores, but they also reduce the appearance of burning red tiles. Shorter words (typically three to four letters) are easier to find, but relying on them too often increases the risk of dangerous tiles appearing, making strategic word building essential.

If players get stuck, they can click on Lex the Bookworm to scramble the board. This provides a fresh layout but costs points, encouraging careful use.

Scoring System Basics

Bookworm’s scoring system is inspired by classic word games like Scrabble and takes several factors into account

Word length: Longer words earn significantly more points.
Letter rarity: Rare letters such as Z and X provide higher scores than common letters like E or A.
Tile color: Special tiles (green, gold, sapphire, and diamond) increase point values when used in words.
Current level: As levels increase, scoring potential also grows.

This layered scoring system rewards both vocabulary strength and strategic tile usage.
