The Snake: Heat and Cold

Heat and cold aren't just scenery in The Snake: Heat and Cold—they directly change how your snake moves. Collect food, grow longer, manage the temperature, and survive longer than other players while the arena becomes increasingly challenging.

Gameplay and Weather Mechanics

You start by choosing from four modes: Classic, Volcano, Desert, and Global Warming. Classic removes weather hazards, while the other three modes introduce temperature changes and a shrinking safe area.

Eat food scattered around the arena to increase your snake's length. In Volcano, Desert, and Global Warming, each food pickup also makes the safe area smaller, putting more pressure on your movement as the match continues.

Controls

Use WASD or the arrow keys to move your snake around the arena.

The main goal is to stay in the arena longer than other players and reach the top of the leaderboard.

Weather Element: Heat vs. Cold

Higher heat increases your movement speed, making it easier to reach food quickly. However, too much heat can cause the snake to burn. Cold has the opposite effect, slowing your movement and changing how you handle turns and hazards.

Deep puddles and your own tail are additional dangers to avoid. The challenge is balancing speed, growth, and survival without losing control.

What Makes It Different From Other Snake Games?

The biggest difference is that temperature directly affects your movement. Heat gives you more speed but also creates the risk of burning, while cold slows the snake down.

The weather modes also change the arena itself. In Volcano, Desert, and Global Warming, eating food makes the safe area smaller. This means growing your snake can also make the available space more difficult to manage.

Together, temperature management, food collection, snake growth, and the shrinking safe area create a survival challenge beyond simply avoiding your own tail.
